Heat Shrink Sleeve

Our premium Heat Shrink Sleeve is specifically engineered for girth-welding joints. It protects large-diameter plastic, insulated, crude oil, and gas pipelines from severe corrosion. Since 2008, we have built over 10 years of manufacturing experience. We combine technical development and direct distribution to supply world-class field joint coatings. These sleeves are designed for both buried and exposed pipeline systems. They provide a robust barrier against moisture, soil stress, and chemical attacks.

As your trusted B2B partner, we ensure every sleeve meets strict quality standards. We use high-performance cross-linked polyethylene backing. We combine this with advanced hot-melt adhesive technology to guarantee long-term joint integrity. Whether managing high-pressure transmission mains or distribution networks, our coatings perform reliably. They match the service life of factory-applied pipeline coatings to ensure seamless protection.

Product Classification: 2-Layer and 3-Layer Heat Shrink Sleeve Systems

When selecting a Heat Shrink Sleeve system, engineers evaluate specific environmental stresses. You must also consider soil characteristics and project operating temperatures. Our advanced product range includes 2-layer and 3-layer protective configurations. Each option is engineered to optimize joint longevity under demanding field conditions.

Our 2-layer system features a heavy-duty cross-linked polyethylene backing. It is coated with a high-shear copolymer adhesive. This adhesive bonds directly to preheated steel surfaces and existing coatings. Our 3-layer system adds a liquid epoxy primer applied to the bare steel. This primer creates a chemical bond before sleeve installation. It provides superior resistance to cathodic disbondment at elevated temperatures.

TSD60 Standard Wraparound Heat Shrink Sleeves

The TSD60 series is our flagship model. We designed it as a highly reliable wraparound sealing system for standard transmission lines. It uses a separate or pre-attached closure patch to secure the overlap during shrinkage. The TSD60 features universal compatibility with major factory-applied pipeline coatings. It bonds easily to 3-layer Polyethylene (3PE) and Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE). This model operates flawlessly under standard temperatures to resist mechanical wear.

Tubular Heat Shrinkable Sleeves

Some pipeline projects require maximum speed and seamless application. For these situations, our tubular sleeves provide an exceptional slide-on joint protection solution. Unlike wraparound variations, these are pre-formed cylinders. You simply slide them onto the pipe section before welding the joint. Once the weld passes inspection, you position the sleeve and shrink it. This design eliminates the closure patch to ensure a completely seamless 360-degree seal.

Low-Temperature and Specialty Joint Sleeves

To address extreme environments, we utilize our advanced custom polyethylene formulation capabilities. This allows us to manufacture specialty low-temperature sleeves. We specifically engineer them to remain flexible and crack-resistant in sub-zero environments. They are ideal for arctic or high-altitude installations. By adjusting our polymer cross-linking density, we supply customized products. These specialized sleeves maintain high shear resistance under unique operating parameters.

The Vertically Integrated Pipeline Solutions Advantage

Procurement managers and EPC contractors partner with us because we control the entire production process. Our vertically integrated operations combine scientific research and custom polymer formulation. We handle raw material extrusion and manage direct global distribution. Over the years, we have continuously expanded our advanced manufacturing facilities. This internal control ensures rapid lead times and high-volume production consistency.

With a proven global track record, we supply high-quality pipeline anti-corrosion products worldwide. We have successfully served more than 500 domestic and international clients. Our rigorous quality assurance system ensures exceptional reliability. Experienced professional technicians use advanced testing machinery to evaluate every product. We guarantee that every batch of sleeves meets strict engineering tolerances before leaving our factory.

Technical Specifications for Heat Shrink Sleeves

Critical infrastructure projects demand rigorous engineering validation. Every Heat Shrink Sleeve we manufacture complies with leading international standards. This includes BS EN 12068, ISO standards, and DIN specifications. We subject raw materials and finished sleeves to stringent mechanical testing. This ensures their long-term stability and resilience under harsh soil stresses.

Field Guide: How to Install Heat Shrink Sleeves

Correct field application is critical to achieve maximum corrosion protection. Even premium materials can fail if substrate preparation or heating is inadequate. This simplified field guide outlines the standard application steps recommended by our technical experts.

Step 1: Girth-Weld Area and Surface Preparation

First, thoroughly clean the steel girth-weld joint. Remove all rust, welding slag, oil, and loose debris. Abrasive blast the bare steel to SIS-Sa 2.5 or wire-brush it to St 3. Next, bevel and lightly abrade the adjacent factory-applied pipeline coating. Finally, preheat the target area using a standard propane torch. Reach the specified temperature, typically between 60°C and 80°C, to activate the adhesive.

Step 2: Sleeve Placement and Closure Patch

Position the sleeve directly over the joint. Ensure it overlaps the existing pipeline coating equally on both sides. We recommend a minimum 50mm overlap. Wrap the sleeve around the pipe, leaving a slight seam overlap. For wraparound designs, apply the closure patch over this seam. Press the patch down firmly to secure the closure and prevent slipping during heating.

Step 3: Propane Torch Shrinkage and Inspection

Use a clean-burning propane torch with a soft yellow flame. Begin heating the sleeve from the center of the joint. Move circumferentially around the pipe. Once the center shrinks, gradually sweep the torch outward toward the edges. This heating pattern drives out trapped air to prevent bubbles. A successful installation shows the sleeve conforming smoothly to the pipe with visible adhesive bleed-out.

Frequently Asked Questions About Heat Shrink Sleeves

What is the difference between 2-layer and 3-layer systems?

Our 2-layer system consists of a cross-linked polyethylene backing paired with a hot-melt adhesive. The 3-layer system introduces an additional liquid epoxy primer. We apply this primer directly to the bare steel before sleeve placement. The 3-layer system provides the highest level of cathodic disbondment resistance for high-pressure pipelines.

Are your sleeves compatible with existing pipeline coatings?

Yes, our TSD60 and standard wraparound models are fully compatible with common factory-applied coatings. They bond securely to 3-layer Polyethylene (3PE), 2-layer Polyethylene (2PE), and Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE). You must ensure proper surface abrasion of the existing coating to guarantee a permanent bond.

Do you offer custom backing thicknesses and roll lengths?

Absolutely. As a vertically integrated Heat Shrink Sleeve manufacturer, we formulate custom backing thicknesses. We also adjust adhesive depths to meet your exact project specifications. We supply pre-cut sleeves with attached closures or continuous bulk master rolls for on-site adaptability.

How do I ensure correct heating during installation?

You can visually confirm proper installation when the sleeve conforms perfectly to the weld profile. There should be no wrinkles, bridging, or cold spots. Additionally, a uniform bead of adhesive must bleed out along both edges to indicate a complete seal.
